Every RSU tax calculation on VestingGap.com runs entirely within your web browser using client-side JavaScript. Your salary, share count, stock price, filing status, and state of residence never leave your device. We have no server-side processing of financial inputs, no database, and no ability to access your entered data. This is a deliberate architectural decision, not a policy promise.

What We Collect
We may collect anonymous, non-identifiable analytics (page views, general geographic region, browser type) through standard web server logs or a privacy-preserving analytics provider. This data contains no financial information and cannot be used to identify you individually.
We do not collect, process, or store: salary figures, share counts, stock prices, tax bracket data, state of residence, filing status, or any output from the RSU calculator.

How the Calculator Works Technically
Your browser downloads a single HTML file containing all calculator logic.
All tax bracket data, FICA rates, and state marginal rates are embedded directly in that file.
Every calculation executes locally in your browser's JavaScript engine.
No form data, API calls, or network requests are made to any VestingGap server during calculator use.
No local storage, cookies, or IndexedDB are used — closing the tab erases all entered data permanently.

Third-Party Services
VestingGap.com may use the following third-party services. Each has its own privacy policy:
Google FontsLoads Inter and Geist Mono typefaces. Google may log the font request IP address. See Google Privacy Policy.
Web hosting providerStandard server logs (IP address, timestamp, pages viewed) retained per host's policy. No financial data is in these logs.
Beehiiv (newsletter)If you subscribe to The Vesting Memo, your email address is sent through our server to Beehiiv, which stores it and sends the newsletter. We never send any calculator inputs. You can unsubscribe with the link in every email, and we delete your address on request. See Beehiiv's privacy policy.
Contact formIf you use the contact form, your name, email address and message are sent by email to support@vestinggap.com so we can reply. We don't add you to any list and delete messages on request.
We do not use advertising networks, tracking pixels, retargeting systems, or sell any user data to any third party.

Permitted Use
You may use VestingGap.com for personal, non-commercial tax estimation. You may not scrape, reproduce, resell, or distribute the calculator or its outputs commercially without written permission.

Children's Privacy
VestingGap.com is intended for adult users (18+) who receive equity compensation. We do not knowingly collect any information from individuals under the age of 13. This tool is not directed at minors.

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of VestingGap.com after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
